“To learn, to share, to grow” – these are the three main reasons why Filipe Ribeiro, Product Manager from Konica Minolta Spain, decided to take on his MOVE FORWARD assignment. Filipe has always been living outside of his original country, which is Portugal, and he enjoys the enriching experience of different cultures and environments.

I consider myself a person without any stereotypes. It is not the matter where you come from, it is just the matter how you behave. And in the end, the more cultures you know the more rich you are.
On the other side, going abroad is always a mystery and even more when a family stands behind with two kids and a wife. “Because of my family, it was sometimes complicated to handle the situation. In some moments you are worried about the fact that you are working and for my wife staying at home it can be very boring.“ Looking for a job in Germany was not so easy and also his 2 little sons had to get used to a new environment. “The good thing is that everybody is embracing you – the team, HR, management. Everybody is available to help you”.
On a professional level, Filipe sees the major benefit being a much higher level of knowledge around product management and project management, which he perceives great for his career and experience he can deliver back in his NOC. “I honestly believe that as ONE Konica Minolta it is really good to have this kind of experience. I built that bridge between BEU and the NOCs and hope that the knowledge can be used back in Spain.”
Meanwhile, Filipe and his family returned to Spain, where he utilizes the experiences from his assignment and contributes to BEU Global Sales in his Southern-European spanning role as Consultant Global Business Services.
